In which women jump the shark

Really? Him

Johnny Depp, David Beckham and Brad Pitt have been usurped from the top five by stars of the Twilight films and TV series The Vampire Diaries.

British actor Pattinson, 24, who plays Edward Cullen in the Twilight franchise, retains his place at the top of the Glamour.com poll.

The rest of the top five – Pattinson’s co-star Taylor Lautner, The Vampire Diaries’ Ian Somerhalder and Twilight stars Xavier Samuel and Kellan Lutz – are new to the sexiest men list.

Robert Pattinson? Are you kidding me? I feel terrible even posting an image of him, because he freaks me out.

Wait a minute… retains his top place? If that’s what it takes these days, I’m quitting the heterosexuality business. And frankly, I’d have better taste than y’all:

Also, this snippet nearly reacquainted me with my lunch:

Charlotte Duck, Glamour.com acting editor, said: ”Women are attracted to vampires because of the element of danger that comes with them. They are the ultimate bad boy – and women want to tame the beast within.”

Has feminism been cancelled or something? I didn’t get the memo. Is it a victim of the recession? Does Charlotte Duck think these men are actually vampires? More worryingly, do women at large think that?

Although looking at the top ten does fill me with the sense that raging teenage hormones are an explanation:

1. Robert Pattinson

2. Taylor Lautner

3. Ian Somerhalder

4. Xavier Samuel

5. Kellan Lutz

6. Johnny Depp

7. Justin Bieber

8. Gerard Butler

9. Hayden Christensen

10. Channing Tatum

Justin. Fucking. Bieber. In case you don’t know what a Justin Bieber is:

The Horror… The. Horror.
